Can Meta Stock Keep Climbing After a 30% Month? JPMorgan Raises Its Price Target

On Thursday, JPMorgan upgraded its price target for Meta Platforms stock from $820 to $920 while keeping an overweight rating. The financial institution believes Meta’s recently introduced Muse agent could emerge as the most widely adopted consumer artificial intelligence application since ChatGPT.

This new target represents roughly 18% upside compared to Meta’s closing price on Thursday. The announcement came one day after Meta showcased several Muse updates during its Connect conference.

Meta’s Best Month in 13 Years Is Within Reach

September has seen Meta shares surge by over 30%, putting the stock on track for its highest-performing month since July 2013.

The most dramatic price movement occurred on September 21, when shares climbed 11% to reach a closing price of $741.25, marking the company’s largest single-session jump since April 2025.

Meta shares finished Thursday up 4.5% at $777.59. Meanwhile, figures from LSEG indicate that 57 out of 63 analysts tracking the company currently give it a buy or strong buy rating.

Why Wall Street Keeps Pinning Its Meta Targets on Muse

These upgraded forecasts follow the September 8 launch of Muse, a personal agent designed to handle tasks such as sending emails, making purchases, and booking travel. The system operates on Muse Spark, which is Meta’s multimodal model.

Doug Anmuth, an analyst at JPMorgan, noted that the agent has experienced a powerful debut and rapid expansion, adding that Meta is advancing toward superintelligence.

According to the bank, Muse linked with more than 2,000 applications across a two-week span. It also features significant integrations with major brands like Walmart, Best Buy, Sephora, and Wayfair.

“…we expect Muse engagements to be handled less through browsing or calling, and more through agent-to-agent interactions. Meta will then be able to monetize on a take-rate or commission model,”  the note read. “While it is still early, we believe that Muse has the potential to become the most widely used consumer AI application since ChatGPT.”

Wells Fargo previously put forth a similar outlook. Ken Gawrelski, an analyst at the firm, lifted his price target from $640 to $796, pointing to strong initial demand for Muse after the application briefly claimed the top spot on Apple’s US App Store chart for free apps.

Meta intends to release Muse Confidential VM later this year, a feature that encrypts user information using a key accessible solely to the user. Additionally, the company introduced Muse Charm, a compact hardware device that provides access to the agent.

Reports indicate the device will begin shipping around the holiday season, and future performance metrics will determine whether JPMorgan’s comparison to ChatGPT proves accurate.
