iFX Hack Hong Kong 2026 Brings AI Innovation to The University of Hong Kong

HONG KONG, Sept. 22, 2026 – Scheduled for Oct. 4, 2026, at The University of Hong Kong (HKU), the iFX Hack Hong Kong 2026 trading and fintech hackathon powered by AWS will unite developers, students, entrepreneurs, artificial intelligence experts, and technology and financial services professionals to create real-world AI applications for tomorrow’s financial sector.

Co-organized by iFX and the HKU Business School Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), and powered by AWS, the event features the Artificial Intelligence Association of Hong Kong (AIHK) and Tsunami Advisors as partners, alongside the HKU Technology Entrepreneurship Core (TEC) acting as a supporting organization.

Guided by the theme “Build the Future of Finance with AI,” competitors will tackle genuine challenges within the financial industry by designing functioning prototypes and AI-driven solutions.

Competitor teams are welcome to investigate topics spanning digital assets, compliance, payments, and trading.

The event welcomes applicants aged 18 and older at no cost, including students, entrepreneurs, developers, fintech experts, AI specialists, and anyone possessing the necessary abilities, passion, or concepts to share.

Applicants may sign up solo or in groups ranging from 2 to 5 members, with solo applicants receiving assistance to find suitable teammates. Attendance is capped at a total of 100 participants. The competition extends beyond HKU, as the top seven teams will advance to the Grand Final scheduled for Oct. 8 during the iFX EXPO Asia 2026 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).

Finalists will spend October 5 through 7 perfecting their prototypes prior to pitching them before an international crowd on the iFX EXPO Asia stage. Contestants will also vie for a combined prize pool amounting to HKD 28,000, broken down as follows: First Prize receives HKD 16,000, Second Prize takes HKD 8,000, and Third Prize secures HKD 4,000.
