What Happens to Porsche NFT Holders Now That the Project Is Over?

Luxury carmaker Porsche is winding down its Web3 project, ending support for the Porsche NFT collection and its PIONΞERS CIRCLE holder club. The decision closes a venture that stumbled from launch.

However, the tokens themselves survive. Holders keep their PORSCHΞ 911 NFTs, while the brand steps away from a community it spent nearly four years building.

What Happens to Porsche NFT Holders Now?

The project’s official account outlined three changes in a farewell post.

First, every Porsche NFT stays with its current owner and continues to live on the blockchain.

Second, the PIONΞERS Discord server becomes a read-only archive. Members can still browse years of chats, but new conversations end there. Finally, the project’s X account will stop posting.

Porsche framed the exit as a strategic shift. The company, the team says, will keep adapting to new opportunities on its own terms.

Why Did Porsche’s Digital 911 Never Hit Top Speed?

The trouble started early. The Porsche NFT collection launched on Ethereum in January 2023 with 7,500 tokens. Each cost 0.911 ETH, or roughly $1,400 at the time.

Demand fell short of that plan. Buyers minted only 1,909 tokens before the automaker halted the sale early.

Porsche kept the project running regardless. Over the following years, the team hosted Discord sessions, events, and racetrack experiences for holders.

Porsche cited no specific reason for the exit, which lands in a year of NFT and crypto closures.

The Porsche NFT wind-down also mirrors an earlier retreat by Nike. It closed its RTFKT digital sneaker studio in January 2025, then sold the NFT studio to an undisclosed buyer.

Earlier this year, Gemini closed the Nifty Gateway NFT marketplace, once a leading venue for curated digital art drops.

Over 20 crypto projects shut down in the first quarter of 2026, as funding tightened and trading volumes cooled.

Porsche’s retreat looks less like an outlier and more like a pattern.

For now, Porsche NFT holders keep the asset, but the events and perks behind it disappear. That gap could shape how the next luxury brand approaches Web3, if one tries again.
